Light as Emotion
Lighting designer and interior architect Sonia Aabouyat has spent nearly ten years creating pieces where light becomes substance, movement, and emotion.
Self-taught in the artisanal craft of lighting and drawing on fifteen years of experience in interior architecture, she has developed a distinctive design language centered on curves, wood, and rattan. Each creation is conceived as a light sculpture: when off, it adorns the space; when lit, it transforms it through the interplay of light and shadow.
Blending French craftsmanship with Moroccan influences, ZAÌAN DESIGN draws its identity from its designer’s Franco-Moroccan roots, her appreciation for natural materials, and her architect’s eye.
Each light fixture is carefully crafted in small batches or to order. The natural variations and nuances of the materials are part of their character, making each piece unique.
More than decorative objects, ZAÌAN DESIGN creates light fixtures designed to give interiors a soul.
